Description

Bring the taste of Longhorn Steakhouse home with this easy Longhorn Parmesan Chicken recipe! Crispy parmesan-crusted chicken breasts smothered in a creamy garlic parmesan sauce. Perfect for a comforting and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a shallow dish, combine parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs.
  3. In another dish, beat the eggs.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then dredge in the parmesan and breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  5. Place the coated chicken breasts in a baking dish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is golden brown.
  7. While the chicken is baking, prepare the sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  8. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to create a roux.
  9. Gradually pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  10. Bring to a simmer, then stir in parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  11. Continue to simmer until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
  12. Place the baked chicken on a plate and generously drizzle with the creamy garlic parmesan sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness for even cooking.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor and melting.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Adjust the sauce to your liking with more garlic, cheese, or herbs.
