Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned and fully crumbled, about 5-6 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add minced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil to the beef. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the brown sugar and red pepper flakes, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the beef is evenly coated. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Spoon the cooked rice into bowls and top with the Korean ground beef mixture. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch. Serve immediately!
