- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 6 oz tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with the egg, adding salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, then stir in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste with seasonings, allowing to simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer three lasagna noodles, half the ricotta mixture, and one third of mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Repeat and finish with a final layer of meat sauce and remaining cheeses.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Freeze portions for up to three months, thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
