Description

Make incredibly tender and flavorful meatballs from scratch using 4C bread crumbs! This easy recipe combines ground beef, pork, and veal with parmesan cheese, garlic, and parsley for an authentic Italian taste. Perfect for pasta, subs, or appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 pound ground veal
  • 1 cup 4C bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, and ground veal. Add minced garlic and chopped parsley.
  2. Add 4C bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese to the meat mixture.
  3. Pour beaten egg and milk over the mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Gently mix until just combined.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll the meat mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  5. Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the meatball mixture; overmixing leads to tough meatballs.
  • Use a combination of ground meats for the best flavor.
  • Make sure the bread crumbs are well distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Baking the meatballs ensures they stay moist and tender.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
  • Use gluten-free bread crumbs to make this recipe gluten-free.
  • Try adding a tablespoon of tomato paste for a richer flavor.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
