Description

Chinese Beef and Broccoli is a classic dish that tantalizes the taste buds with tender beef strips and crisp broccoli florets, all coated in a delicious soy sauce blend. Perfect for quick weeknight dinners or impressive gatherings, it’s nutritious and loaded with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced beef and sauté until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and stir-fry for an additional minute.
  2. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Blanch broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. Add minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, mixing well. After 1 minute, add the blanched broccoli and combine thoroughly.
  4. Stir in the remaining soy sauce and optional oyster sauce, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • To freeze, ensure broccoli is fully cooled; texture may change upon thawing.
  • Enhance serving by adding sesame seeds or green onions.
